CALL FOR ABSTRACTS: Yearbook of International Disaster Law Volume No. 8 (2025) – Published by Brill

The Yearbook of International Disaster Law (YIDL) provides academics and practitioners research on international legal and institutional issues relevant to all forms of natural, biological, technological and human-made hazards, including rapid and slow onset disasters and the effects of climate change. The Yearbook
offers a forum for innovative research contributing to international legal and policy debates on the prevention, mitigation, response and recovery from disasters. The YIDL is a peer-reviewed journal published by Brill and is available in printed and online form.
The Yearbook includes both a “General” section and a “Thematic” section. The Editors welcome submissions of abstracts for both sections on the basis of the selection process detailed below. For the eighth Volume of the Yearbook, the thematic focus will be “Vulnerabilities and Disasters”.
SUBMISSION PROCEDURE
Abstracts for potential papers to be published in the ‘General’ and ‘Thematic’ sections should be sent by 6 th March 2026 to info@yearbookidl.org. Abstracts should be between 300 and 500 words. Authors are kindly requested to attach a short curriculum vitae to their email. The selection process of submitted abstracts will be coordinated by the Editors of the YIDL, and results will be communicated to applicants by the end of March 2026.
Full manuscripts (max. 10.000 words, footnotes included) are due by 15th July 2026. Papers will be subjected to a double-blind peer review process managed by the YIDL before being finally accepted for publication.
